Ledford LeRoy Sizemore, 85, of Buffalo Junction, husband of Catherine Bittle Sizemore, died Feb. 11, 2010 in Duke Hospital. He was a native of and educated in Mecklenburg County, where he has always lived and farmed. He was preceded in death by parents Nannie and Ledford Sizemore, sisters Eva Garrett, Katie Sue Gordon, Lucy Bet Sizemore and Myrtle Bruce Jennings. In addition to his wife he is survived by a son Dennis Edward Sizemore of Leesburg, a daughter and her husband Martha S. & Dr. George Aitken of Durham; sisters Naomi Humphreys & Winnie Wiles; grandsons Matthew & Adam Sizemore, and James & Michael Aitken; nieces Margaret J. McMichael & Patricia W. Zurow, nephews Bruce Jennings & Allen Wiles. LeRoy was a member of Clarksville Baptist Church and the Clarksville Lions Club. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 PM in the Watkins Cooper Lyon Chapel. Officiating will be the Reverends Jane Lyon and Brittani Massey. Burial will follow in the Oakhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Community Center of Person Memorial Hospital Extended Care Unit, Sunday at 4 PM.
